My Singing Monsters: The Lost Landscapes is a fan-made project created by Raw Zebra and inspired by the structure of My Singing Monsters. It is not an official Big Blue Bubble game. Instead of following a traditional story campaign, the player develops musical islands by collecting monsters whose voices and instruments become parts of each location’s song. Progress comes from expanding the monster collection, breeding or obtaining new species, feeding them, earning currency, and gradually completing the music of different landscapes.
Building an Island One Monster at a Time
The basic gameplay follows the familiar monster-management format. Players obtain creatures with different elements, place them on suitable islands, and listen as each one adds another vocal or instrumental part to the track. Some monsters can be bred from compatible elemental combinations, while others are purchased or transferred between locations. Monsters can also be leveled up, allowing the player to meet requirements for teleporting or other progression systems used by particular islands.
The main activities include:
- collecting different monster species;
- breeding monsters through elemental combinations;
- hatching and placing new creatures;
- feeding monsters to increase their levels;
- teleporting eligible monsters between islands;
- collecting currency produced by monsters;
- arranging or muting creatures to change how the island song sounds;
- unlocking new parts of each musical landscape.
Each Landscape Has Its Own Musical Cast
The Lost Landscapes does not use numbered action levels. Its main progression is organized around islands, each with a different environment, monster roster, and complete musical arrangement. Public material for the project includes locations such as Floating City, Evergreen Marsh, Candy Island, Noramba Desert, Terra of Organs, Knottshurr Island, Calamity Island, M’Duzza’s Crypt, Gamma Water Island, Tutor’s Island, and island_demented_dream_ERROR. Some islands use familiar monster species, while others introduce fan-made creatures created specifically for the project.
Evergreen Marsh Shows the Breeding System
Evergreen Marsh is one example of a more conventional breeding island. It uses Water, Plant, Air, and Faerie elements, and monsters can be brought there after meeting level requirements. New combinations gradually add more parts to the island’s song, so obtaining another monster changes both the collection and the music rather than simply increasing a numerical score.
There is no combat system, equipment progression, or final boss. The main objective is to expand the available islands, discover monster combinations, develop each musical arrangement, and continue building the collection. Because The Lost Landscapes was a fan project and its original public version became unavailable, much of its content is now preserved through gameplay recordings, community documentation, and later fan efforts rather than through an official current release.
