Jump Force Mugen V12 is a fan-made 2D fighting game built with the MUGEN engine and centered on crossover battles between characters from many anime and manga series. There is no original story campaign connecting all of the fighters. Instead, the game focuses on individual matches, arcade runs, and custom battles. Its extremely large roster includes characters from series such as Dragon Ball, Naruto, One Piece, Bleach, Demon Slayer, My Hero Academia, and many others, allowing matchups that would never appear in an official crossover game.
Hundreds of Fighters Use Different Movesets
Combat takes place from a side view and follows classic arcade fighting rules. Players can move, jump, block, use normal attacks, perform combinations, and activate special techniques. Characters are created separately for MUGEN, so their controls, animations, transformations, and special attacks can differ significantly. Some fighters rely on close-range combos, while others use projectiles, teleportation, energy attacks, summons, or transformations based on their original series.
The main gameplay includes:
- choosing from a very large crossover roster;
- fighting one-on-one or in team battles;
- using normal attacks and multi-hit combos;
- performing character-specific special techniques;
- managing health and power meters;
- fighting computer-controlled opponents;
- playing local versus matches;
- completing arcade-style sequences of battles.
Arcade Mode Provides the Main Progression
Jump Force Mugen V12 does not use traditional levels, exploration, equipment, or character upgrades. Arcade mode instead places the selected fighter through a series of CPU-controlled opponents. Versus mode allows players to create their own matchups, including fights between characters from completely unrelated franchises. Team configurations can also place several fighters on each side, depending on the selected mode.
The Roster Is the Main Source of Variety
Version 12 expands the compilation with additional fighters and stages compared with previous builds. Because MUGEN characters are created by different community authors, fighters can vary in visual style, complexity, balance, and strength. Some use simple fighting-game mechanics, while others have elaborate transformations or extremely powerful attacks that can quickly change a match.
There is no permanent progression system shared between battles. The main reason to continue playing is to experiment with different characters, learn their attacks, create unusual crossover fights, and complete matches with different teams. Jump Force Mugen V12 therefore works primarily as a large anime fighting sandbox rather than a story-driven adaptation of the official Jump Force game.
