A match in BGMI begins with players entering a large battleground and choosing where to land before searching for equipment. There is no traditional story campaign with characters or chapters. The main objective in Battle Royale is to survive longer than the other players while a safe zone gradually becomes smaller. Players can fight alone or work with teammates, deciding when to attack, hide, change position, or avoid combat altogether.

Battle Royale Matches

After landing, players search buildings and outdoor areas for weapons, ammunition, armor, healing supplies, scopes, grenades, and other equipment. The shrinking play zone forces everyone toward a smaller part of the map as the match continues. Staying outside the safe area causes damage, so movement and timing are important. Vehicles can be used to cross long distances, escape dangerous positions, or move the squad into the next zone.

Weapons and Team Play

BGMI contains assault rifles, sniper rifles, shotguns, submachine guns, pistols, melee weapons, and throwable items. Attachments can change weapon handling, magazine capacity, and other characteristics. In squad matches, knocked teammates can be revived instead of immediately leaving the battle.

A typical match involves:

·         choosing a landing location;

·         collecting weapons, armor, and supplies;

·         moving toward the safe zone;

·         fighting or avoiding enemy players;

·         reviving and supporting teammates;

·         using vehicles to travel across the map;

·         surviving until the final opponents are eliminated.

Maps, Modes, and Progression

Battle Royale takes place across maps with different terrain and layouts, including Erangel, Miramar, Sanhok, Livik, Vikendi, Karakin, Nusa, and Rondo. Large maps provide long-distance travel and open combat areas, while smaller maps create faster encounters.

BGMI also includes modes outside standard Battle Royale. Arena offers shorter combat matches, including Team Deathmatch and 1v1 battles, where eliminated players can respawn and continue fighting. Other available activities include Metro Royale and WOW content. Progress is based on matches, rankings, missions, and seasonal goals rather than completing numbered story levels. Players improve by learning maps, controlling different weapons, choosing better positions, managing supplies, and coordinating with teammates during the final stages of each match.
