Tekken 6 Online is a 3D fighting game where players choose from a large roster of martial artists and compete in one-on-one battles. Each fighter has a different fighting style, move set, speed, range, and combination attacks. Matches are won by reducing the opponent’s health to zero before time expires or by having more health when the timer ends. Alongside regular battles, Tekken 6 continues the series story surrounding the Mishima family, Jin Kazama, Kazuya Mishima, and the conflict caused by the Mishima Zaibatsu.

Combos Depend on Timing and Position

Combat uses punches, kicks, throws, blocks, sidesteps, and multi-hit combinations. Individual attack buttons correspond to different limbs, allowing fighters to connect moves into longer sequences. Players can launch opponents into the air and continue attacking before they land, while wall collisions can extend combos further. Tekken 6 also introduces the Rage system, which increases a fighter’s damage when their health becomes critically low.

Fighters use very different techniques, including wrestling, karate, boxing, kickboxing, capoeira, and fictional martial arts. Learning one character involves understanding their safest attacks, launchers, punishers, throws, and reliable combinations rather than simply pressing attacks as quickly as possible.

Arenas Can Change During a Fight

Some stages contain walls, balconies, or floors that can break during combat. A powerful hit can send a fighter into another section of the arena, continuing the same round in a new location. These transitions can also create opportunities for additional attacks, making positioning near certain parts of the stage important.

Tekken 6 also contains a Scenario Campaign that differs from standard versus battles. In this mode, characters move through larger environments, fight groups of enemies, collect items, and face Tekken fighters as bosses. Regular fighting remains the central part of Tekken 6 Online, with progress based mainly on learning characters, practicing combinations, reacting to opponents, and winning increasingly difficult matches.
