BLOODMONEY: Requiem is a psychological horror clicker and visual novel built around a simple financial problem. The player needs $25,000 for an expensive medical operation and meets Harvey Harvington, a cheerful man running a roadside stall. Harvey offers one dollar every time the player clicks on him. At first the arrangement appears harmless, but the shop soon introduces tools that increase the amount earned per click while causing progressively greater harm to Harvey. Requiem is a complete remake of the original BLOODMONEY! and also contains an additional campaign with new story material.
More Money Requires Harder Choices
The basic gameplay revolves around repeatedly clicking Harvey and deciding how to spend the money already earned. New tools increase the payout, allowing the $25,000 target to be reached much faster. However, buying stronger equipment changes Harvey’s condition and affects how the story develops. Purchases cannot simply be treated as ordinary upgrades because certain decisions can influence which ending becomes available.
The game includes:
- clicking Harvey to earn money;
- purchasing tools that increase the payment per click;
- choosing whether faster progress is worth hurting him;
- visual and dialogue changes based on player actions;
- multiple possible endings;
- a remade version of the original BLOODMONEY! scenario;
- a separate Requiem campaign;
- psychological horror and increasingly violent imagery.
The Shop Functions as the Progression System
There are no traditional levels, combat encounters, character statistics, or exploration areas. Progress instead comes from reaching new amounts of money and unlocking increasingly effective options in Harvey’s shop. Early interactions pay very little, so reaching the required total through harmless clicking takes much longer. Stronger tools accelerate the process, creating the central conflict between financial efficiency and the consequences of using them.
Requiem Adds Another Version of the Experiment
After experiencing the familiar premise, players can enter the new Requiem campaign. This section expands the concept rather than simply repeating the original route, adding new dialogue, situations, and outcomes involving Harvey. The remake also redraws the pastel artwork while preserving the contrast between its bright visual presentation and the increasingly disturbing events.
BLOODMONEY: Requiem is designed around replaying short runs and making different decisions. There is no equipment build or permanent character progression that carries the player through a long campaign. Instead, the main reason to replay is to purchase different tools, stop at different points, and see how those choices alter Harvey’s reactions and the ending. The $25,000 goal remains straightforward throughout, but the game gradually turns the process of reaching that number into the main source of tension.
